The Federal Government has said it will scrap the Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) models in Nigeria.

The Federal Government has said it will scrap the Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) models in Nigeria.

As a replacement, a compulsory 12-year uninterrupted basic education model will be introduced.Under the revised system, students will receive continuous education up to the age of 16, after which they can pursue higher education.

The government has sought approval from the National Council on Education to implement the changes.
