Kalu's presidential posters emerge in Abia
Campaign posters giving credence to the possibility of a former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu contesting for the office of the President in 2019 general elections has surfaced in Umuahia, the capital of Abia state.
The poster indicated the former governor and business tycoon will be contesting under the umbrella of ruling party All Progressives Congress.
It was reported that the posters were mostly seen along major roads like Ikot Ekpene/BCA, Umuwaya and the famous Aba road.
It should be recalled that campaign posters of this nature have been seen in some areas in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Reacting to this development, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has dissociated himself from the campaign posters saying they are the handiworks of some people who seek to cause friction between him and President Mohammadu Buhari.
A statement made available to newsmen by Maduka Okoro, the media aide of the former governor on Sunday said:
βIt has come to our notice of the dirty-some attitude being exhibited by some politicians who are uncomfortable and disturbed with the consistent and intimidating profile of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.
βDr. Orji Uzor Kalu does not have presidential ambition come 2019.
βDr. Orji Uzor Kalu, a strong believer in constitutional democracy supports President Muhammadu Buhari for the completion of his second term which ends in 2023,β
Speaking further, Maduka said the Dr. Kalu is rather focused on his ambition represent the people of Abia North Senatorial District in the coming election.
