Nigerian multiple-awards winner and former co-owner of the defunct PSquare group, Paul Okoye, has announced his intentions to change his name come Tuesday, January 1.

His intentions to change his name seems to have followed the crisis that recently rocked the Psquare group.

PSquare's Paul Okoyo whose handles across his social media platforms is @rudeboypsquare made the announcement to change his name ahead the new year to @iamkingrudy.

The artist says that the change of name would take effect from January 1.

According to a post shared on his Instagram handle, Paul wrote; “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT! Dear #firedepartment on the 1st of January 2019 my instagram handle and Twitter will automatically change from rudeboypsquare to @iamkingrudy thanks and God bless. #namesecured.”

The change of name insinuates that Paul officially dissociates himself from the Psquare brand.
