INEC Begins Distribution of  Permanent Voters Card in Ekiti

The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has fixed March 12 to commence Voters Registration in Ekiti State ahead of the June 21 Governorship election in the State.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner[REC] Alhaji Halilu Pai disclosed this in Ado Ekiti, at a meeting with Traditional Rulers and Religious leaders in the State.

Halilu Pai said the distribution of Permanent Voters Card [PVC] to the people of the state will begin today and end on Sunday, adding that the Permanent Voters Card will be used during the election.

He said the roles of the monarchs and religious bodies in ensuring a successful conduct of the election will not be ignored.

Two of the INEC officials who spoke at the meeting, stated some of the procedures the electoral body has put in place to ensure a credible poll in the State.

The Resident Electoral Commission[REC] also spoke on some of the activities the commission has lined up to ensure smooth registration of voters in the State.
