FG Inaugurates New SEC Board
Minister of Finance and co-ordinating minister of Economy,Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has inaugurated the board for the security and exchange commission.
Inaugurating the board in Abuja, the minister reminded them of the importance of the commission and urged to ensure that capital market activities proceed in a beneficial manner to improve the nation's economy.
She noted that the nation's performance in the capital market in recent times has not be encouraging,calling on the to work with the management of the Nigerian stock exchange to improve economic benefits of the nation.
Responding,the chairman of the newly inaugurated board,Dr Suleiman Abdu Ndanusa assured the minister that the board will work in synergy with the Director General and Management of SEC to ensure that Nigeria's capital market becomes a force to be reckoned with.
Former DG of SEC promised that members of the board will operate based on established rules and regulations to achieve its aims.
The board members are made up of six men including the chairman .
