Ogun Assembly Passes 2013 Appropriation Bill Into Law
The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed into law the N211.86 billion budget proposal for the 2013 fiscal year.
The budget proposal, according to the speaker, Suraj Adekunbi, who presided over the budget passage with 21 lawmakers in session on the floor of the House, was passed having considered the budget proposal clause by clause and section by section.
The 2013 budget proposal tagged “Budget for Sustainable Growth”, by Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State was presented before the Seventh Legislature on Tuesday, 20 November for the State House of Assembly consideration and passage.
The budget proposal as presented before the House by Governor Amosun comprised N118.23 billion capital expenditure, representing 56 percent, and N93.64 billion recurrent expenditure, representing 44 percent of the total budget outlay, with a slight increase of 5.6 percent compared to the 2012 budget.
The budget was short of 73 million naira of what was presented to the house by the Governor
The passage of the appropriation bill by the law makers follows this process.
Reading the budget proposal on the floor of the House, clause by clause and section by section, the Speaker of the House, Suraj Adekunbi said that the budget proposal after passing through the third reading was passed and ordered that a clean copy of the bill be sent to the Governor for his assent.
He commended the members of the house for their cooperation and support from the time of presentation of the budget by Governor Amosun till the passage of the appropriation bill.
