About 8 persons have been reported dead in an accident which occurred at Celica Area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital along the Ibadan- Ife Expressway.

The Incident according to eyewitnesses occurred when a container fell on18 sitter bus and claimed the lives of all passengers including the driver of the bus.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that out of the 9 persons trapped in the ugly incident only one passenger, a woman escaped while remains of other 8 passengers been deposited at the nearest Morgue.

The accident according to eyewitness account was attributed to the on-going construction of the bridge at Celica Area along Ibadan-Ife Expressway.

The construction work has no doubt caused heavy traffic along that axis making it difficult for motorists plying the road.

Few weeks ago some accidents were also recorded along that route.

Some road users urged the federal government and contractor handling the road construction to speed up work in the area so as to prevent incessant loss of lives and hardship in the axis.

As at the time of filing this report Oyo state security outfit codenamed Operation Burst, officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps have moved to the scene to clear the wreckage of the vehicles from the highway.
