Aregbesola Sues for More Training for Inmates
The minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has urged the Nigerian Correctional Service centres in the country to double efforts in improving the morals, academics and vocational training of the inmates, so they can come out a better person on their release.
Aregbesola made the call when he decorated the new Comptroller General of the service Abuja.
He lamented the poor ending of service years of those serving the fatherland saying more should be done to improve their wellbeing after their term.
The minister urged, the new CG, Haliru Nababa, to liaise with other Government agencies to ensure that outgoing inmates are well equipped with vocational and technical training that will make them independent when they are out of prison.
He also urged the new CG to strive to end prison break in the country.
The new Comptroller-General of Nigerian Correctional Service, who assured of collaboration with other security agencies, especially in the aspect of intelligence gathering said he will do more to reposition service.
Nababa emerged from a rigorous meritocratic selection process to become the helmsman of the service.
