Bayelsa SSG’s Mother Kidnap: JTF Comb Bayelsa Creeks
Less than twenty-four hours after the 80-yr-old mother of the secretary to the Bayelsa state government Mrs Betinah Benson was abducted by unknown gunmen at her old legislative quarter’s apartment in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital, Operatives of the Joint Task Force comprising the military, men of the Nigerian police and other paramilitary organizations have begun a manhunt for the kidnappers by combing the creeks and waterside communities in Yenagoa and the outskirts.
The JTF operatives who stormed the creeks in different speed boats in the early hours of today, stopped over in several communities to carry out a search operation in ensuring that the octogenarian mother of Honorable Kombowei Benson, former speaker of the state house of assembly and presently the SSG is rescued unhurt.
Meanwhile, the SSG on his Facebook page this morning has gone spiritual, calling on Bayelsans to join him in prayers for the safe return of his mother and to build a better tomorrow for his dark region.
The JTF is yet to issue a statement on the outcome of the ongoing patrol exercise in the creeks at the time of filing this report.
