A Magistrate Court sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital has remanded the dismissed soldier, Ajayi Johnson who allegedly killed a motorcyclist early this month in prison custody

The sacked soldier, Ajayi, who was charged for murder, was handed over to the Nigerian police, by the military last week, after his dismissal, for prosecution. 

The Chief Magistrate, Linda Ugbaja said the court has no jurisdiction on the matter and adjourned the case to 16th September to enable the Prosecutor to prepare for the transfer of the case to the High Court. 

Recall that Ajayi, who hails from Kogi State, shot a motorcyclist, Chimaobi Nwaorgu at Umuokereke, Ngwa, in Obingwa Local Government Area on the 7th of August this year.
