Dickson, Obaseki harp on peaceful coexistence
The Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson has charged stakeholders in the troubled Ijaw communities of Edo and Delta states to work together for peaceful co-existence.
He gave the charge at the government house in Yenagoa while receiving the Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki who paid him a visit on the need to resolve the dispute between the two ethnic tribes.
The Edo state governor who was received at the Bayelsa government house with his entourage, went into a closed-door meeting with the governor before governor Dickson met with newsmen on their discussions.
On his part, governor Obaseki stressed on the need to strengthen the regional cooperation within the Niger Delta states.
It will be recalled that Ijaw leaders and the Edo state government had last year, held series of meetings regarding the disputed Ijaw areas in Edo state, while the meeting will go a long way in cementing the relationship.
