FG tasks N-power beneficiaries on self sufficiency

The Federal government has cleared the air on the possibility of absorbing beneficiaries of its national social investment scheme, N-Power into full civil service mainstream; stressing that the scheme was designed in exit-permanence strategy.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Afolabi Imoukhuede stated this during interactive workshop for Ogun State N-Power volunteer corps in Abeokuta, the state capital; as part of plans to monitor progress recorded so far in the state.

Beneficiaries of the N power scheme have been tasked to be open to opportunities that would spur them to being self-sufficient; in order to add value to the nation's economy development.

Afolabi Imoukhuede who expressed satisfaction with the performance of the beneficiaries said intensive monitoring platforms would be created to further judge individual's efforts in order to account for the huge investment of the federal government.

Some of the beneficiaries also bared their minds on the scheme

The SSA assured that problems identified with payment schedules including discrepant account names, wrong BVN amongst others would be sorted out; estimating that a total of Six billion naira monthly is being expended on beneficiaries' stipends across the country.

The interactive workshop was meant to get feedback from 5,779 beneficiaries who were selected out of 18,275 applicants in Ogun state.
