Makinde Calls for More Discipline in The Nigeria Army
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has charged officers and men of the Nigerian Army on the need to be more disciplined for them to lift up to the expectations of the profession.
Makinde, who gave the charge during the commissioning of the 2 Division's Transit Camp at Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo Ibadan said the level of Professionalism and nationalism being displayed by the Army is an indication that there is still hope for the country.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Makinde while reacting to the viral video of Two officers of the State Security outfit, code-named Operation Burst who rough handled a woman in Ibadan commended the steps taken on the matter by the General Officer, Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Anthony Bamidele Omozoje.
According to the Governor, the recent challenges between security agencies and the public has made it clear that it is only through professionalism that such challenges can be surmounted.
He also assured the Army that the state will continue to extend the traditional Oyo State hospitality to whoever is posted to the state, adding that the state, having flagged off the second phase of operation light up Oyo State, will soon extend the LED lights to the barracks.
On his part, the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Odogbo, Ibadan, Major Anthony Omozoje thanked the state government for supporting the Army saying his men will continue to uphold the tenets of the profession.
