Minister, others decry attack on schools
The Minister of state for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu has described the abduction of school children by bandits as an attack on education, which should not be condone.
He also said Education is the key ingredient for individual, communities and international organizations for rapid development
The Minister, who made the disclosure during an inspection of Save school project in the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),in Abuja, on Friday, said education is one of the major focus areas of president Bola Tinubu with a lot of thematic areas to address
Galaxy Tv reports that Dr. Sununu revealed that Nigeria is leading globally in areas of out of school children despite all investments in education noting that, the trend is unacceptable.
He implored all the state governments in Nigeria to see how they can quickly, in the next few weeks, established their own center that will be directly connected to the center.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commander General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ahmed Audi who was represented by the Deputy Commander General of Admin, Fasiu Adeyinka, promised to work hard towards curtailing insecurity in schools across Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Commander of the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Hammed Abodunrin and his counterpart, Hajiya Halima iliya, National coordinator on financing safe school described education as the greatest gift that anybody can give to loved ones, saying all hands must be on deck to ensure that school children are safe both at the learning environment and in their respective domains.
