Ogun Correctional Centre Produces 16 Masters of Desktop Publishing
Sixteen inmates at the Ijebu-ode custodial centre, Ogun State have been awarded masters of desktop publishing and use of the Internet.
The Information Communication and Technology training which lasted for six months was facilitated by a group under the aegis of Justice Initiative Frontiers.
The convener of JIF, Kehinde Yekeen said the training was organized to promote justice in Nigeria and help inmates achieve their goals.
Yekeen added that ICT facilities were also donated to the custodial centre to enhance efficient and effective training of the successful desktop publishers.
In his address, the Controller of Corrections, Ogun State Command, Mojeed Olaniran stated that the command also produced 76 holders of Nigeria Certificate Examination (NCE), adding that 13 others are currently undergoing a degree programme at the National Open University of Nigeria.
Olaniran said another 75 inmates in the state would participate in the 2021 November/December National Examination Council (NECO).
The controller who was represented by the officer in charge of Ijebu-ode custodial centre, Abel Oso noted, the examination fees of the inmates were facilitated by some Non-Governmental Organizations, religious bodies and families of inmates.
