Ortom Applauds Southern Governors for Banning Open Grazing
Governor, Samuel Ortom of Benue says any Nigerian opposed to the position of the Southern Governors resolve for banning open grazing has a hidden agenda.
Governor Ortom made this known at the Holy Ghost Parish Hall, Makurdi during its 'Media Week and Communications Day 2021', organised by the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi.
The Governor who says his colleagues from the Southern part of the country had towed the right path in addressing insecurity challenges in Nigeria, said open grazing was no longer tenable with the growing rural development and population growth.
Governor Ortom said Nigeria is a great country with great potentials and should, ordinarily, have no business with poverty if it was able to guarantee the security of lives and property and ensure the people are not displaced from their communities and farmland.
The Governor, therefore, calls for the return of history studies in our educational curriculum.
