The government at all levels has been implored to prioritize and formulate policies that would encourage development among children in Nigeria. The charge was part of comments by parents as the nation celebrates children’s day. Children, they say, are the heritage of God, Let’s make the world (environment) a safe and enjoyable place for our kids. When the Galaxy TV news crew visited some parks in Lagos, the children were having fun.

Some parents who spoke urged the government to ensure an enabling environment for the children to develop and thrive. They noted that most children have talent but don't have avenues to channel their energy, so they go into criminalities.

They however charged govt to make children a priority and provide a good policy as well as curriculum for their intellectual development not only in schools. According to them, the children need more protection from insecurity.
