PDP BOT Meets In Abuja--Calls For Reorganization Of The Party
The People Democratic Party (PDP),has charged its members to work to preserve the tenets of democracy in the country.
Acting chairman of the board of trustees of the party, Adolphus Wabara made the call at the first meeting of the board held at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, Tuesday.
He said opposition in Nigeria's political space will go into extinction should the PDP go underground. Wabara said the party will continue to fight for democracy.
The party also pledged to conduct a rancour free primary election slated for next week to select its gubernatorial candidate in Edo state.
National chairman of the party, Umar Damagum stressed that the party aims at a united front especially to winning the September 21, Edo state gubernatorial election.
Damagum urged BOT members to join in the rebuilding process of the party as they are all l stakeholders and have collective responsibility to the progress and success of the party.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed stressed the need for proper reorganization of the party to reduce and minimize rancor among officials and members as the citizens look up to the party as a possible alternative.
Mohammed also passed a vote of confidence on the BOT members of the party.
