SARS apprehends suspects of stolen vehicle
Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Benue state command have recovered two vehicles stolen at gunpoint in Abuja and one other, including the suspects in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
The police image maker, ASP Moses Yamu, who spoke about the recovery, said one Abdul Shaibu was arrested in connection with the Nissan Primera that was stolen in Abuja while those of the red Honda civic escaped.
He said the police are on their trail and would be brought to book.
The suspect of the Nissan Primera, Abdul Shaibu, during an interview said he never knew the car was a stolen.
Meanwhile, the two other suspects arrested in connection with Toyota Corolla said they were a victim of circumstances but the police said one of them was fingered by a petitioner, and that investigating is ongoing to verify their claims.
However, the police have assured members of the public of their safety during this season and called for further cooperation to avail security agencies with useful information.
