Stakeholders in education have handed down a seven-day deadline to the Federal Government and Authorities of the University of Lagos to conduct a formal Convocation and subsequent issuance of Certificates to recent graduates of the university.

The stakeholders at a Media briefing held in Abuja decried what they termed undue delay in conducting Convocation and issuance of Certificates to the graduates of the University of Lagos, since the year 2019.

They expressed concern that the inability of the University of Lagos to issue certificates to its graduates are incipient signs of inefficiency and insensitivity on the part of principal officers of the University.

According to them, some of the students have been denied the opportunity to attend the mandatory one-year NYSC scheme and other life endeavours which required the certificate.

The stakeholders however advised the authorities concerned to immediately conduct a formal convocation and issuance of Certificates to the graduates of the university Lagos.
