Court Grants Detained Imo Lawmaker Bail
The Honourable member representing the people of Ohaji-Egbema constituency in Imo state Hon Hercules Okoro has regained freedom as a magistrate court sitting in Owerri has granted him bail.
This is coming barely 24 hours after protesting youths, men and women of his constituency barricaded highways in protest over his arrest.
The lawmaker who was arrested last week Friday at the government house for his objection over the process of the purported impeachment of the speaker has been held in custody before the magistrate court granted him bail.
Speaking on the lawmaker's release, his legal counsel expressed joy as the lawmaker said nobody can stop him from speaking the truth.
It will be recalled that the people of Ohaji-Egbemi had issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the state Governor for the release of the lawmaker before the court granted him bail.
