INEC confirms safety of PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians of the safety of all the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) issued by the commission for the 2019 general elections.

This is coming against the backdrop of moves by some politicians to clone permanent voter cards for their selfish ambitions.

The resident electoral commissioner in Oyo state, Barrister Mutiu Agboke while speaking live on Galaxy television's primetime programme, Galaxy Today, on the level of preparation for the next year polls, stated that the security features of all the cards remain the property of the commission.

He charged the electorates on the need to ensure proper safe keep of their cards and refrain from selling them to fraudulent politicians.

Barrister Agboke disclosed that the commission has put its house in order ahead of the general elections, stressing that more enlightenment programmes for the electorate are still on board.

However, Barrister Agboke revealed that over 900,000 permanent voter cards are yet to be collected by their owners in Oyo state.
