Oyo ADC declares support for govt of unity
Leaders and members of the African Democratic Congress in Oyo state have declared support for the government of unity under the leadership of Governor Seyi Maknide.
Rising from a congress in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, the party further dissociate itself from a statement credited to some fifth columnists in the name of the party seeking undue attentions in the polity.
The meeting attended by leaders and members of the party across all the senatorial districts in the state was summoned to assess the government of unity in the state and as well clear air on some sundry issues relating to the party.
In their separate remarks at the meeting, the leaders commended members for their cooperation and support adding that governor Seyi Makinde has been able to comply with the pacts made with the party.
Speaking on behalf of other leaders, Senator Mosurat Sunmonu stated that the party admired the style of leadership of Governor Makinde.
On some contending issues relating to the government of unity, senator Sunmonu stated that the party leaders believed in the sincerity of the governor.
In the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and read by the former deputy speaker of the state house of assembly, Hon Musa Abdulwasi, the party restated its commitment to the government of unity in the state.
They appealed to members of the party to remain calm and continue to
work for the progress of Oyo state.
