There was confusion and palpable fear at Akin‎bola Estate in Eleweran Area of Abeokuta, when a police corporal identifies as Sukanmi Ogunbiyi shot dead seven persons including his wife and a two year old baby.

Galaxy News learnt that though an unconfirmed report has it that the corporal has been experiencing marital challenges for some time before the sad incident happened in the early hours of today.

Already the authorities of Ogun state police has confirmed the incident which the command described as most unfortunate even now that the image of the police is being repositioned and rebranded.

When Galaxy News visited the area which was a new settlement, the environment was deserted except for those who were around to witness what has happened.

Some of the eyewitness that spoke with Galaxy News confirmed that the couple has been experiencing marital challenges and confirmed the ‎killing of eight persons.

In it reaction to the incident,the Ogun state Police Command through the police public Relations Officer, Dsp Muyiwa Adejobi who confirmed‎ said the Corporal was attached to the state police command and that he just finished a night duty early this morning but refused to drop his gun at the appropriate spot.

He denied the insinuation that the deceased was insane or have any mental disorder adding that the command the command was so organised that it cannot give it's riffles to an insane person.

Adejobi, who appealed to the people of Ogun state not to judge the police with what has happened but to see the incident has one of the social mishap insisted that, the officer was a gentle person.
