The election petition tribunal sitting in Yola has delivered judgments into five petitions challenging the election of national assembly members representing different constituencies of the state.

The Justice Suleiman Akanbi dismissed all the five national assembly petitions filed before it.

Supporters of elected representatives whose elections are challenged arrived the tribunal early to have a seat at the limited space of the courtroom.

After waiting for over an hour, the judges arrived and cameras were asked to leave the courtroom.

First on the list was the case challenging the election of Senator Binos Yaroe of Adamawa southern senatorial zone.

After about two hours of reading the case file, Justice Suleiman Akanbi dismissed the suit filed by Moalla'idi, because it lacked merit and statements of prosecution witnesses could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt

The clerk then called the case challenging the election of Hon Abdulrazak Namdas. In his judgement, justice Akinbiyi said the petition lacks merit. He said ten prosecutions witnessed called by the petitioner could not prove the cases of alleged over voting and violence in the five polling units they are challenging. He, therefore, dismissed the suit and asked all parties to bear their cost.

Senator Ishaku Abbo who has been enmeshed in crisis since assuming office also gain victory at the tribunal against senator Binta Garba.

Counsel to senator Binta said they will be approaching the appeal court to seek justice.

Hon. Sadiq Dasin who is challenging the election of Mustapha Saidu of the Peoples Democratic Party lost his case at the tribunal.

Out of the five judgments delivered between Wednesday and Thursday, the All Progressives Congress only clinched one victory while Peoples Democratic Party took home four of the cases.
