Uche Ikechukwu Happy To Be Villarreal Top Scorer
With one game to go in the Spanish La Liga, rejected Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche says he is happy to end the season as his club,Villareal's top scorer.
The Nigerian, left out of Nigeria's provisional World Cup squad list by Stephen Keshi scored his 13th goal of the season on Saturday in his club's 4-0 bashing of Rayo Vallecano and said he was delighted to be the Yellow Submarine's goaleador.
''I'm happy to be Villareal's top scorer this season.It was not down to me alone but also the work done by my teammates',said Uche who acknowledged he has had a very great season despite making occasion trips to the club's medics to treat injuries.
'This is my best season in the la liga and many thanks to my teammates.I am also happy to be back in the team after some time out on the sidelines due to injury,''he further said and revealed the team wanted to end their home season on a high hence the bashing they handed out to the visitors.
Uche also dispelled rumours of a possible move away from Villareal.
'It is all rumours and I don't know where the talk is coming from because I'm happy at Villareal.’
