Anyanwu Remains PDP National Secretary
The tussle over the office of National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has taken a new turn following the party’s receipt of a stay of execution order stopping the enforcement of an earlier Appeal Court judgment removing Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.
Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said the party, as a law-abiding entity, was constrained to obey the latest order of court.
He stated that, In the last few days, issues surrounding the authentic National Secretary of the party have been in the front burner of their discussion.
He noted that, On Wednesday, January 15, the party was served with an order of interim injunction issued by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Maitama, in a suit instituted by the Imo State PDP Chairman, Austine Nwachukwu, through his counsel, Clement Mue, in a Suit marked: CV/64/2025, which restrained the party and its agents from giving effect to the Appeal Court order recognizing Ude Okoye as National Secretary.
Abdullahi further appealed to all PDP members to be restrained and law-abiding in waiting for the final position of the court on the matter.
He stressed that, with several precedence serving as references, Members ought to be guided as a party not to fall prey to the antics of our political traducers in and outside of the PDP by playing to the gallery on matters of law and constitutionality.
