Ogun commences implementation of National Health Act
Sequel to the recent announcement made by the Federal government that provision is made for the implementation of the National Health Act in the 2018 appropriation budget, Ogun state government says it has commenced the implementation of the act.
Ogun state commissioner for health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye made this known while speaking with journalists on the sideline of an event in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.
Ipaye says the national health act puts primary health care and health insurance as the cornerstone of health care delivery in the country; with primary health centre in terms of service delivery and the health insurance in terms of financing.
He says the state's investment on health has focused on both the primary health care and related activities such as the institutionalization of the state's health insurance scheme otherwise known as ARAYA among others.
