Monarch decries lingering power outage
The paramount ruler of Igbokoda, Ondo state has challenged the state government to come to the aid of the people in the area who have been living without electricity for over six years.
Igbokoda is the major town of Ilaje people in the region where crude oil was discovered in Ondo state. The community is bereft of all amenities including electricity which is affecting the socio-economic status of the people.
Speaking with Galaxy news, the Olu of Igbokoda, Oba Afolabi Odidiomo, said the state government has abandoned the people of Ilaje thereby making them suffer for so long without electricity.
The monarch critically added the situation has caused a huge setback for the community especially small scale business entrepreneurs who spend so much to run power generating sets.
He further said the community has met the request of the power company in the area without any respite and he doubts if the company is ready to restore electricity to the area.
