Legal luminary Afe Babalola has described the proposed bill on hate speech being considered by the senate as a journey to dictatorship.  

Afe Babalola while receiving an award from the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ekiti State accused journalists of doing less to challenge the proposed bill. 

Babalola who said Nigeria has enough laws to check publication or spread of falsehood believes some steps taken by Security agents invading houses of judges sometimes back will take a negative toll on the justice system in the country. 

He advised journalists to be committed to the task of nation-building and do more in the protection of rights of Nigerians.
