The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has dismissed allegations of receiving gratification from the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Godswill Akpabio in respect of the appointment of a Sole Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
The media report which made the claims, Malami described as fake news marred by what he termed contradictions, a figment of the imagination and filthy assumptions of mischief makers and detractors.
According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Jibrilu Gwandu, the Justice Minister further added that the unsubstantiated allegations are aimed at denting his hard-earned reputation while denying any wrongdoing.
Malami maintained that he has not collected and does not intend at any time to receive any gratification from any dealing in the course of discharging any function he is constitutionally empowered to perform.
The Minister, therefore, urged masterminds of the said publication to approach relevant security and law enforcement agencies and proffer information that could lead to a criminal investigation against him.
