Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has presented a budget proposal of 242.2 Billion Naira for the year 2020 to the state house of assembly for approval.

Presenting the budget tagged budget of consolidation for prosperity at the floor of the state house of assembly, Governor Diri noted that his administration policy thrust is anchored on programmes and projects geared towards wealth creation and infrastructural development.

He stressed that the budget will be funded by revenue of 202 Billion Naira which is lower than that of 2019.

 He promised to annex the natural resources that abound in the state in providing food security for the people.

The ministry of works and transport will gulp the highest budget of N8.6 billion naira according to the budget proposal, and followed by Agriculture and education which have a budget of N8 billion Naira and 2 billion Naira respectively.
