Oyo state high court sitting in Ogbomoso has faulted the process that produced the Soun of Ogbomoso Oba Ghandi Olaoye and orders a fresh process to select a new Soun of Ogbomoso.

Pastor Ghandi Olaoye was announced by the government on the 8th of September 2023 as the new Soun of ogbomoso following a process completed by the king makers of the ancient town.

One of the princes contesting the obaship position , Kabir Laoye had approached the court saying Oba Ghandi Laoye is ineligible to be the Soun.

Delivering his judgment, Justice Adedokun announced that the selection of Ghandi Olaoye is illegal and orders that the Ogbomoso king makers begin a new process to select an Oba.
