Delta state commissioner for works, James Augoye has appealed to contractors handling the Obiaruku road in Kwale local government area of the state, to return to site and complete work the road.

This is coming after several petitions by community residents blaming the state government and the NDDC for abandoning the community road leading to flooding.

Inspecting the abandoned road where the contractor’s equipment was still visible, the commissioner for works said the governor is not pleased with the slow pace of work.

On the constant flooding of the community, he stressed the need for the community residents to write the works ministry.

Meanwhile, residents of the community including the traditional chiefs who had spoken with Galaxy news on the abandoned road, had gone to the state house of Assembly in Asaba.
