The Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman said the Present administration under President Bola Tinubu, is taking bold steps to support and established skills and innovation hubs in tertiary institutions across the country. This he said is being done to nurture critical thinking and innovation.

reaffirmed the importance of research and education in driving sustainable development and highlighted the need for African nations to address challenges in their educational systems.

He said education is the cornerstone of development, the bedrock upon which nations build their future and also they recognized the transformative power of education in shaping lives, through innovation, and fostering sustainable development.

The minister further stated that the annual conference therefore, serves as a reminder of collective commitment to advancing education and research within the region adding that the growth and development of the continent depends largely on research output.

Also, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Chris Maiyaki, while speaking on the conference theme, Forging Future High Education and Research Communities, emphasized the need for proactive, innovative, and forward-thinking approaches to teaching, learning, and research.

Represented by the deputy executive secretary academic, Nuc Dr. Noel Biodun Saliu, encouraged participants to embrace digital transformation, foster collaboration, and cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty.
