IG restates commitment to welfare of Officers, disburses N2.5B Cheques
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has presented a whooping N2.5 Billion insurance money to widows and next-of-kins of policemen who died in the line of duty.
The cheques were presented to the next of kin of the deceased officers at the police headquarters, Abuja by the IGP and his lieutenants.
GALAXY TV reports that the benefits, according to Egbetokun were given to the relatives of 563 fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for the nation.
The police boss noted that the event encompasses the disbursement of funds under the Group Life Assurance Policy for the 2018/2019, He expressed hope that this will help the families in this period of hardship.
Force Insurance Officer, CSP Lydia Ameh, commended the IGP for his commitment to paying insurance claim to families of deceased policemen.
