IGP decries insufficient accommodation for officers
The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun says the Nigerian Police Force is currently grappling with a significant housing shortage for its members across all ranks. Egbetokun made the disclosure at the first Nigeria Police Housing Summit in Abuja, Monday
Galaxy Tv reports that the IGP, therefore, sought the establishment of a N100Billion police housing fund. According to the Police Boss , presently, housing capacity meets only about 10% of the needs of more than 400,000 strong workforce
Egbetokun hinted that years of neglect have rendered existing barracks accommodations largely inadequate, failing to meet the demands of modern 21st-century policing. Others speakers also lauded the initiative saying, it will bring a big relief for officers.
