Kila: Reps Suspends Plenary
The House of Representatives has adjourned sitting over the death of Yuguda Hassan-Kila, representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State.
Yuguda died on Thursday at the National Hospital in Abuja but was said to have been poorly treated by the hospital management before his death.
Members in their separate remarks praised the second time lawmaker praying for the repose of his soul.
On his part, Hon Leke Abejide who took Honorable Kila to the National Hospital criticized the poor treatment meted on the member before his death.
While the actual cause of his death is yet to be ascertained, Kila, until his demise was Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise.
He has been absent from the House since the later part of 2020 and has not been seen in the National Assembly since January 2021.
Adjourning the sitting, the Speaker House Femi Gbajabiamila prayed for the repose of the lawmaker.
Hassan-Kila before joining politics worked with the Nigeria Customs Service where he rose to the position of the comptroller of customs.
