IGP Felicitates Muslim Ummah

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria, celebrating the successful completion of Ramadan.

 

In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP emphasized the spiritual significance of this occasion and urged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of self-discipline, tolerance, and compassion cultivated during Ramadan. He highlighted the importance of these values in fostering peaceful coexistence and national unity. To ensure a safe and secure celebration, the IGP has ordered enhanced security measures nationwide. 

 

Commissioners of Police (CPs), Tactical Commanders, and supervising Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) have been directed to strengthen security at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centers, and other public places. Additionally, officers will conduct intelligence-driven patrols, surveillance operations, and strategic stop-and-search duties to prevent any security threats during the festivities.

 

The IGP also called on Nigerians to celebrate peacefully, remain law-abiding, and stay vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency. Wishing all Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr, the IGP encouraged reflection on the values of patience, kindness, and national cohesion. He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining public safety, promoting unity, and upholding law and order across the nation.
