NAF confirms helicopter crash, as 5 survive
The Nigerian Air force have confirmed the crash landing of its MI-35P helicopter in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital.
The Air force in a statement by the director of public relations and information Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the unfortunate incident occured at about 7.45am shortly after the aircraft took off for an operation against economic saboteurs in Rivers state.
According to him, the entire crew of five survived the crash with minor injuries and are currently being attended to at NAF medical center port Harcourt.
The incident according to the Air force is a reminder of the dangers associated with military flying and the risks NAF pilots and technicians experience in defending the nation and deterring criminal elements from their nefarious activities.
