NAF decorate new pilots

The Nigeria Air Force has reassured Nigerians of its commitment to successfully execute its constitutional roles.

Chief of Air staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar gave the assurance at the winging ceremony of pilots trained in Westline Aviation, South Africa, held in Abuja on Wednesday, January 17.

Air marshal Abubakar said the force will continue to meet its statutory responsibility and obligations of joining other security agencies in the protection of lives and properties in the country.

He however urged the young pilots to be prepared for the onerous task ahead as they embrace the operational flying environment.

The chief of air staff also urged the young pilots to always work hard and employ diligence in their operations.

Also speaking at the event, the former chief of defence staff, Air chief Marshal, Paul Dike said, the Air Force is as important as other forces in Nigeria and must be more diligent in the discharge of its duties.

He was optimistic that the new pilots will add to the efforts of the Airforce in delivering on its mandate.

Graduation of the two female officers will make it the first two female officers being winged as qualified pilots. However, a total of eleven officers were decoorated as qualified pilots.
