NGF Condemns Attack on Governor Uzodinma
The Nigeria Governor's Forum has condemned the attack by gunmen on the country home of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Gunmen had attacked Uzodinma’s country home in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State burning his country home and other properties worth millions of Naira.
In a statement released on Sunday, Chairman of the forum, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, said the action was criminality taken too far.
He said the forum sympathizes with the Governor and commiserates with all those that were injured, maimed or killed in the attack.
The Forum, however, called on all good citizens to cooperate with the nation’s security forces and the government in trying to build a civil, safe and secure environment for the citizens.
The chairman also stressed that those behind these crimes must understand that they do not have the monopoly of violence while appealing to Nigerians to work collectively to fish out perpetrators of the dastardly act who he described as a small league of persons trying to harm the corporate existence of the country.
