NIPOST Headquarters Gutted by Fire
A part of the Nigeria postal services headquarters in Abuja was on Wednesday morning gutted by fire with minor damages at the human resources and postal services departments.
Although the agency denied journalists access into the floors where the incident occurred, NIPOST General Manager corporate communications, Franklyn Alao said that the smoke was coming out from the building in the morning causing panic within the premises before arrival of the men of the fire service.
Mr Alao stated that the federal fire personnel were able to contain the fire not to spread to adjoining offices.
He also there was neither a record of any loss nor injury on anyone.
Correspondent Nnabuchi Okey Nnabuchi report that there were some number of staff within the building when the incident occurred.
The incident was the fifth fire incident in six months at key federal government offices.
