NMA Calls For Urgent Steps To Reverse Brain Drain
Rivers state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara says his administration is committed to improving the welfare of health professionals by creating a conducive environment for them to strive.
Governor Fubara who was represented by the commissioner for health rivers state Dr. Adaeze Oreh made this known during the 64th Nigerian Medical association, Rivers state branch annual scientific conference in port Harcourt.
Dr oreh also highlights other measures the Governor is putting in place to make the healthcare professionals in the state comfortable.
Earlier, the chairman Nigerian medical Association rivers state branch Dr. Ebbi Robinson said training health professionals can be one of the ways to change the brain drain syndrome in the state and the country at large.
The keynote speaker professor of medicine and medical Education, professor Ibi Erekosima who spoke on the theme: reversing the trend of health sector brain drain urged the government to focus on training, retraining and reforming the health workers.
Highlights of the Events was lunching of the book for medical health professionals and award to the Rivers state Governor as the Man of the Year.
