Senate Condoles with Windstorm Victims in Nassarawa State, Calls for Urgent Relief
The Nigerian Senate has expressed heartfelt condolences to victims of a recent windstorm that ravaged four local government areas in Nassarawa state.
During Tuesday's plenary session, Senator Mohammed Onawo of Nassarawa South passionately raised this issue, highlighting the devastating impact on communities.
Senator Mohammed Onawo, brought attention to the tragic aftermath of a destructive windstorm that swept through Awe, Doma, Keffi, and other areas, resulting in one fatality, numerous injuries, and extensive property damage.
Among the structures affected were residences, educational institutions, places of worship, and vital electrical infrastructure.
In response to the motion, the Senate called upon key agencies to promptly dispatch relief materials to support the affected communities in Nassarawa state.
Akpabio led the Senate in observing a minute of silence as a mark of respect for those who tragically lost their lives in the calamity.
