The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, have honoured some officers and men of the command for their hard work, diligent and for making the command proud in the discharge of their duties.

The Command also restated its commitment to the safety of lives and property of residents.

Also, six Journalists in the state including Our Correspondent Kunle Ojo were also honoured with the award of excellent performance during the 2020 End of the Year party organized by the command for his men.

Speaking during the award, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, Iskilu Akinsanya, said the performance of the command during the outgoing year could not have been recognized if not for the support of the officers.

Akinsanya said that the officers of the command were gallant and hardworking and that the command was able to surmount the challenges due their support and dedication to duty.

The commandant said the essence of the party was to honour those officers that have made the command proud and to be recognised by the public.

He also commended the media in the state for their support, saying their performance might not be recognised by the public if not for the support of the media.

Also speaking, Deputy Commandant-General (DCG), Shem Obafaiye, said the NSCDC officers in Oyo State had performed excellently well.

Obafaiye said the command had recorded a lot of successes during the outgoing year and advised them to continue to put in their best in tackling the security challenges in the state.
