A socio-cultural group, Yoruba Appraisal Forum said the recent agitation for Oduduwa Republic could turn the South West to a battle zone if not handled with utmost care.

The group also raised an alarm that it has uncovered plans to destabilize the southwest for the selfish gain of few politicians using the self-determination plan of the Yoruba ethnic group.

The group said this during a public sensitization rally in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital. The rally commenced at Fajuyi Park, went through Oke-Eyinmi, Ejigbo roundabout and Ojumose where they engaged residents on the importance of peace.

The coordinator of the group Adeshina Animasahun in an interview with newsmen appealed to residents of the state to live together in peace and harmony.

While decrying the spate of insecurity in the country, Animasahun said all hands must be on deck for the attainment of a progressive and secured Nigeria.
