Ogun Police Arrests 2,736 Suspects in Six Months
The Ogun State Police command has arrested no fewer than 2,735 suspects for various crimes, ranging from robbery, kidnapping, rape and cultism across the state in the last six months.
The Police command also recovered 139 arms and ammunition and 31 vehicles within the period under review.
The state Police Commissioner, Edward Ajogun disclosed this at the Command's headquarters in Elewe-Eran, Abeokuta, the state capital while parading 45 suspected criminals, including an alleged human trafficker, Comfort Innocent.
Ajogun hinted that 1,139 suspects were undergoing prosecution in courts across the state, adding that 45 suspects have been convicted and serving various sentences.
Ajogun pledged that the Command would not rest on its oars to rid the state of crime and criminality, adding that the police will continue to clamp down heavily on criminals.
Speaking to newsmen, the 35-year-old woman, Comfort Innocent who was arrested for an alleged human trafficking, denied being a human trafficker, explaining that she just only trying to help the girls.
