Police Arrest 1,243 Suspects for Sundry Crimes, Recover Ammunitions
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a total of 1,243 Suspects for offences ranging from armed robbery, Kidnapping, Murder and homicide, unlawful possession of firearms to rape. Not only that, total 210 firearms, 3,172 rounds of ammunition, 118 stolen vehicles, and 64 kidnapping victims were recovered across the country within the month of October, 2024.
Galaxy Television reports that the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, while parading the suspects attributed the fear to adequate intelligent information. Speaking while parading 16 suspects at the IRT office in Abuja , ACP Adejobi highlighted the Force’s dedication under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
He emphasized that these efforts reflected the Force’s commitment to curbing criminal activities and ensuring the security of all citizens through intelligence-led policing, tactical operations, and community engagement. Among recent cases was the exposure of a syndicate involved in criminal conspiracy and kidnapping, including Togai Gaptas from Plateau State, who admitted to identifying local villagers as potential targets for the gang.
ACP Adejobi reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force is resolute in its mission to maintain peace and security nationwide adding that the Force remain committed to build on these achievements and intensifying efforts to combat crimes like banditry, armed robbery, and cybercrime to foster a safer environment for all.
