The Nigeria Police Force has rescued two children of a Zamfara State House of Assembly Lawmaker, Aminu Ardo, who were abducted from Jangebe village, in the Talata Mafara Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State in November 2022.

The armed bandit had invaded the residence of the Lawmaker, abducted his wife and four children, while in the captivity, the woman gave birth under unfavorable condition but lost the child

In a relentless efforts to regain her freedom, the woman escaped with two of her children, a boy and Girl, leaving two other girls in the den of the abductors.

GALAXY TV reports that the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, while handing over the rescued children to their father at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, said their rescue followed a combined effort of security agencies, with the coordination of the Office of National Security Adviser

He maintained that the crime of kidnapping, especially when it involves innocent children strikes at the heart of humanity and society, saying it remains a gross violation of human Right and a traumatic experience for the victims and their families.

The police boss said under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu administration, there has been a robust focus on security reforms aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and responsiveness of the country’s security architecture.

Egbetokun declared that the successful rescue of the innocent children was a direct result of the initiative stemming from advancement of intelligent department and operational capability of the anti kidnapping squad in katsina state police command, as well as a tactical support from the Nigeria Air Force.

The Inspector General of Police said the Force remains resolute in dismantling criminal networks and ensure that justice is served,. promising that the Force would continue to leverage on the dedication of its officers, intelligent sharing and synergy between with other law enforcement agencies as well as timely support from members of the Public.

He commiserated with the Lawmaker and other members of his family, saying their resilience gave the police the courage to achieve this feat.
